The Year of the Birah (Capital)
Remember the pattern: Each Jubilee sets in motion the events of the next era.
What the Jubilee of 1967, and specifically the 6 Day War set in motion:
In the Middle East: The failure of Arab Nationalism opened the door for radical Islam. With radical Islam came and era of terrorism marked by such people, organizations and events as: al Queda, Hamas, Osama Bin Laden. It was the beginning of a new US- Israeli alliance and put the United States into the role of being the chief arbiter in the Middle East
In the United States: Along with the aforementioned there also came radical Islamic resentment towards Western Culture in general and the United States in particular, ultimately resulting in 911 and the ongoing War against Terrorism. Strangely enough the 911 attack seemed to give Islam a sense of legitimacy in the United States as many people, perhaps anxious not to be accused of overreacting became increasingly open to Islam despite it’s stated desire to rule the world.
The Soviet Union: The alarm that the defeat of it’s Arab allies caused among satellite nations and European allies resulted in the weakening of the Communist Bloc
The world at large was changed to such an extent that some observers have made the comment that ever since 1967 the world has been living in the seventh day of the Six Day War.
Israel: Was now overseeing a land mass several times larger than it had possessed before the Six Day War
Jerusalem: Following the Six Day War prospered and grew.
The prophecy of Zechariah 8:4-5 was fulfilled:
Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Old men and old women will again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each man with his staff in his hand because of age.
5 And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.’
The years after 1967 saw more Jewish people coming back to Israel than ever before.
1 A focal point of global controversy
2 The only National Capital that the world refused to recognize
Remember the pattern:
Each Jubilee sets in motion and paves the way for the next Jubilee.
Next will be: The Jubilee of Capital Hill
